Introducing our Premier Model: The Baroque

150-peghead
We are proud to introduce our new Baroque model banjo: our very finest instrument, marrying nearly every one of previous our hand-crafted innovations with distinctive new design elements and features. You simply must see the photos in the gallery below.

At the heart of this model is a set of innovations that make this banjo unlike anything else being made today. We integrate our previous innovations, like Doc’s Frailing Platform™ with hand-sculptured heal, Gothic™ Tone Pot, Cathedral Bridge™, Oxbow Armrest™, Tunneled Hook™, and built-in Built-in Tailpiece™, with our newly mastered Scalloped Fretboard with Tunneled 5th String and striking new Slotted Peghead.

Scupltured-Heal
The distinguishing features of the slotted peghead are 3 vintage style Waverly tuners (made in Montana) on the left and 2 on the right which work in conjunction with the 5th String Tunnel. Our tunneled 5th string neck design features a hand sculpted swell at the 5th string nut that allows for proper 5th string spacing up the neck while improving the natural feel and playing comfort as there is no 5th string tuner or tuner block obstructing movement as on most banjos.

Until now, we have resisted making a banjo model that was given a name for several reasons. This banjo changed that. Our new Baroque model will be our premier model, while maintaining the custom wood selection and hand-shaping that make each of our banjos one of a kind. Priced individually, these options total over $4,000. Our Baroque Model will sell for the special promotional price of $3,699.

150

We recently brought our first Baroque model banjo, Banjo #150, to the Guild of American Luthiers biannual convention in Tacoma Washington. We kept hearing comments like " WOW...I have never heard a banjo that sounded so sweet and looked so beautiful". Fellow Luthiers would bring their friends back to show them this model, usually following up with a question along the lines of "how did you do that"? Want to learn more about what caught the attention of some of the best luthiers in the world? Call us today!
